Letter writing pizza party — Negotiations not war

Free Pizza and writing letters!  Join us at Kalamazoo Friends Meetinghouse, 508 Denner St, Kalamazoo, MI 49006.

Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015,  11:30 AM – 1:30 PM.

Join us as we hand-write letters to our Senators and Representatives to support efforts for a negotiated settlement with Iran.

We ask our reps to neither advocate nor vote for Senator Menendez’s bill, “Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act of 2015,”

because it can derail or even kill our best opportunity in decades to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran.

We support our experienced negotiators representing our country and our allies as they work

diligently to reach a final deal that keeps Iran from building nuclear weapons.

The negotiations led by the U.S. and our allies are working.

So far, Iran has honored the commitments it has made at the negotiating table.

Today, Iran is further from building a nuclear weapon than it was before the negotiations began.

In addition, there is evidence that a final deal is possible.

If the U.S. violates the Joint Plan of Action by passing additional nuclear-related sanctions on Iran,

this could drive Iran away from the bargaining table and allow them to place the blame for the failed talks

on the U.S.  Not only that, but it could also result in our country losing legitimacy with our allies causing global sanctions against Iran to unravel.

Introducing new hurdles at this critical stage of the talks would jeopardize our current efforts and lead to war.
