News from KNOW – September 2012

KNOW just celebrated it’s 10-year anniversary!  It has been 10 years
since the vigil to oppose the war in Iraq began on noon, Sunday, Sept.
1st, 2002, in front of the Federal Building downtown Kalamazoo.  This
was Nancy Small’s birthday wish to stand with a sign to oppose the
war, and the vigil is still going on every Sunday.  The war in
Afghanistan continues, and Iraq is under an occupation of thousands of
armed contractors.  KNOW has broadened its focus somewhat, to efforts
to cut the war budget and redirect funds to human needs.
So the vigil continues every Sunday at noon on the corner of Michigan
and Park.  Make it a point to join us soon!
