Violence De-Escalation SKILLS TRAINING
Date: Saturday, October 31, 2020
10 a.m. – noon and 1:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m.

In keeping with Covid-19 safety guidelines, this will be a Virtual Training

Cost: none for the 1st 100 applicants, $30 for additional applicants

don’t worry about it because it’s already paid by Congregation of St. Joseph!

Participants are required to make the entire training in order

to foster trust and community throughout the day.

Training includes an extensive, printable color manual

Participants will explore nonviolence:
What does it mean, how is it used,
What is the difference between passivity and active nonviolence? What is empowered peacemaking?

Participants will learn:

*deescalation skills when tensions rise in a group gathering such as a protest.

* bystander intervention skills when alone and encountering a situation that needs intervention

* skills in forming a team/group and planning an action when participating as group in rallies, gatherings at a legislators office, etc.

Each registrant will receive a confirmation email
which will include the Zoom link
and a manual that could be downloaded.
